Nikki is the founder and lead consultant of City of Light Consulting. She began the organization with over a decade of experience in various nonprofit settings. She jumped to consulting when she realized she'd become the go-to person for people with questions about the nonprofit world.

With a Masters in Community and Economic Development and a second in Organizational Leadership, Nikki brings knowledge and experience to her work with clients.

Nikki is honored to support the incredible work of organizations around the world. In addition to her experiences in higher education, she has had the opportunity to learn through experience in local direct-service organizations, relief organizations, and government settings.

Brian

Brian brings 20 years of experience in project management, business development, and associate learning and development to the City of Light team. He holds a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute and a Certified Nonprofit Professional certification from the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance.

Brian has experience managing a $2.4 M annual development budget and a history of successfully responding to private and government proposal requests. With an attention to detail and a desire to make information understandable to the entire team, he removes stress from complex processes so everyone can focus on doing their best work. Brian is passionate about aiding organizations supporting underserved individuals.

Kelly

Kelly earned a BA in English, a BA in Art Education, and an MA in Art Education at Ohio State University. She taught high school painting, drawing, and art history for 6 years before relocating to Prague, Czech Republic, in 2010. She started her business as a freelance editor and proofreader at that time.

Kelly taught academic writing to art and design students at Prague City University for 11 years and also led the BA (Honors) Fine Art Experimental Media program for 4 years.

Kelly enjoys supporting educators with learning design consultations and building structures to get creative ideas off the ground. Most of all, she loves the meaningful work of writing grants on behalf of the socially conscious nonprofits with CLCC.

Kellyn

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

DIGITAL MACGYVER

Kellyn graduated with a BA in Studio Arts from St. Bonaventure University, where she developed skills in traditional media and observational drawing. She became interested in digital media and graduated with a BA in Media Arts and Animation from the Art Institute of Indianapolis. Since then, she has worked in various capacities, including animation, graphic design, and website design.

Kellyn enjoys working with small businesses and nonprofits, helping them to put their best foot forward with visuals.

Maeve

NONPROFIT INCANTOR

Maeve recently graduated from Canisius University where she studied English, creative writing, and philosophy. Her experience in both analytical and creative writing helps her write grants, newsletters, social media posts, and more for City of Light clients. She also offers a helping hand to many different projects and presentations in the Buffalo community. Her work as a literacy program coordinator has helped Maeve understand the inner workings of nonprofits and how to create change through educating others. 

Maeve enjoys making a difference through her work with nonprofits by utilizing her strengths in writing, creativity, and education.
